Just hitchhiking around the world and having loads of nomadic adventures. Nothing special, you know. 😛 😀
Some solid information about me: My name is Wei. There is always a way/Wei no matter where you want to go. I am a 28 years old guy who chases his passion for the road and the adventures. I was born and raised in Mainland China. When I was 18, I left my hometown in Shandong for my bachelor study in Tsinghua University, Beijing. 4 years later I headed to the Netherlands for my graduate studies. I LOVE traveling, not just the typical traveling of going to hostels/hotels, sightseeing and returning home with some photos and souvenirs, I love the nomadic traveling, hitchhiking, couchsurfing, wild camping and sleeping in strangers’ houses. Only when you travel in this more open-minded way will you notice there are so many beautiful things and people in this world. I started a nomadic journey in 2013.
So far, I have visited about 80 countries across 6 continents, hitchhiked more than 500 vehicles and the distance I hitchhiked is about 60 000 km/37300 miles, enough the circumvent the equator for 1.5 rounds. I was listed among the ’30 Top Adventurers Under 30 in 2017′ by Openworldmagazine. For my adventures I was also featured in Chinese TV programs and several other major media.
I hitchhiked in Taliban-controlled area in Pakistani Kashmir, warring Eastern Turkey, conflicting Congo, Sudan, Ethiopia, Colombia, Uganda, Iran, India etc.. The vehicles I hitched include trucks, cars, boats, ambulances, bicycles, tractors, motorcycles, scooters, donkey carts, police cars, priest cars, nuns’ cars and 3-wheelers. However, the thing I want to say the most about my journey is that I am forever grateful to those who helped me along the way/Wei.
